We, at Truss-Frame.com, are the foremost constructors utilizing Truss Frame technology, for both homes and light commercial buildings, in the world. We have constructed housing in the jungles of South America on log and raw stone foundations, utilizing untrained labor who had never seen a 2x4. If experience in strong, disaster-resistant, economical construction is what you are looking for, and our design and service capabilities fit with your needs, you have found a solution. Since 1978 we have been at the forefront of metal plate connected wood roof and floor truss theory and application.

Truss-Frame technology was developed in the United States in the late 1970s by a very talented and market-wise engineer for the the U. S. Forest Service, an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture. The initial research and development of Truss Frame was funded by, and centered in, the Forest Products Laboratory (FPL) at their headquarters in Madison Wisconsin.

Truss-Frame Technology!

The next milestone for Truss-Frame technology was the the nation's top prize in housing technology, the Building Value into Housing Award. This competition, co-sponsored by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) was open to innovating architects, engineers and builders, world wide. A predecessor company of Truss-Frame.com was named as a principal winner. In that year, Truss-Frame technology was exported by us to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Colombia, Costa Rica and utilized in housing throughout the Southeastern United States.

Next, in 1981 the technology was featured in the rotunda at the annual National Association of Home Builders Show and Convention where a demonstration Truss Frame house was constructed in the show area, in less than 20 minutes, every hour for the duration of the show by a Truss-Frame.com company's team of carpenters.

Then in 1982, in suburban Tampa Florida, the world famous "House in a Day" was erected, with nothing pre-fabricated other than the trusses. In attendance were hundreds of Federal, State and local officials expressing their approval and amazement. The energy efficient home constructed that day is still occupied.

Over the ensuing months, systems and techniques were conceived, tested, proven and implemented for manufacture and mass production, transportation, installation, erection and finishing. Complementary technologies were developed and incorporated as a part of the Truss-Frame Housing System as it is known today.

Truss-Frame is simple, fast, strong, disaster resistant, cost effective, environmentally friendly and energy efficient. This system for housing and light commercial structures has no pier.
