Building codes in the continental United States are governed by the following organizations.

	Building Officials and Code Administrators Int'l, Inc. (BOCA) See ICC below. 4051 W. Flossmoor Road Country Club Hills, Illinois 60477-5795 Primarily responsible for building codes in the northeast portion of the country in an area east of the Mississippi River and north of the Mason Dixon line.
	Council of American Building Officials (CABO) 5205 Leesburg Pike, Suite 1201 Falls Church, Virginia 22041 This is the umbrella organization for the three nationally recognized model code organizations which split the country into three geographical areas.
	Dade County Building Code Compliance Office 140 W. Flagler Street Suite 1603 Miami, Florida 33130-1517 Approves construction product and assemblies to be used in the very high wind-load Miami-Dade County as well as dissemination of building code information to the construction industry and building departments.
	International Code Council (ICC) 5203 Leesburg Pike Suite 600 Falls Church, Virginia 22041 Combining ICBO, BOCA and SBCCI, the ICC to combine the efforts of the existing code organizations to produce a single set of building codes so that code enforcement officials, architects, engineers, designers and contractors can work with a consistent set of requirements throughout the United States.
	International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO) 5360 South Workman Mill Road Whittier, California 90601 Primarily responsible for building codes west of the Mississippi River.
	NFPA Building Code 1 Batterymarch Park P.O. Box 9101 Quincy, Massachusetts 02269-9101 Formulating the Comprehensive Consensus Codes™ (C3), a fully integrated, consensus-based safety code set. C3 offers the only complete set of ANSI-approved model codes, integrated for public safety.
	Southern Building Code Congress International (SBCCI) See ICC above. 900 Montclair Road Birmingham, Alabama 35222 Primarily responsible for building codes in the southeast portion of the country in an area east of the Mississippi River and south of the Mason Dixon line.
